Representatives from the towns of Durham, Freeport, and Pownal met frequently over an 18-month period to create a consolidation plan that would benefit our educational program and our taxpayers. It was very challenging work and we would like to recognize the people who gave a significant amount of time and energy to the process.
There were two significant documents created as a result of these efforts. One document is the full Reorganization Plan approved by the State and the voters of each community. The second document is an Education Subcommittee report that describes the educational benefits that may be realized as a result of consolidation.
We will update this page as decisions that affect the communities are made final by the RSU No. 5 Board of Directors.
