Communication Bill of Rights

English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) Teachers:

RSU5's Multilingual Learner program is designed to address the language needs of students with a primary or home language other than English who are in the process of acquiring English.  Our program is based on the principle that students learn best in the regular classroom.  Students who are multilingual learners receive English language development services from teachers who specialize in English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL), as well as support throughout their instructional day provided by all of their teachers.

In addition to working with students, Multilingual Services keep the families of our Multilingual Learners informed in a language they understand.  We provide interpreters and translated documents where needed for families.  Our goal is for our students and their families to become an integral and vital part of our community.
