WorldQuest is an academic competition on International Affairs sponsored by the World Affairs Council of Maine. The competition is held each year (in the fall), and Freeport High School has participated for many years. A team consists of three students and a teacher/chaperone who are paired with a Maine business for a table of eight. The competition consists of 60 questions, ten each in categories such as "International Trade" or "International Sport". Categories vary somewhat from year to year. Each year, the winning high school team can go to the national Academic WorldQuest competition in Washington, D.C. in the spring, for which extensive preparation is required. Freeport's team has been to Nationals 3 times!~ A team of four students is chosen by tryouts held before the State Competition
