The RSU5 Scorecard provides information on academic achievement and academic growth throughout the district. RSU5 uses the NWEA (Northwest Evaluation Association) assessment, a research-based computerized assessment, as a measure to determine academic growth and academic achievement in literacy and math across the district in grades 3-10.
The Maine Educational Assessment (MEA or sometimes referred to as eMPower) is the measurement tool used across the state of Maine to determine the academic achievement of students based on a grade level standards in grades 3-8. This assessment meets the federal standards, assessment and accountability requirements in Maine. At the high school level, the Scholastic Assessment Test (SAT) is administered to third year high school students and provides academic achievement data in literacy and math. .
Additional information included in this report includes graduation rates, advanced coursework data at the high school, first and second year post- secondary persistence, and Pre-K enrollment numbers.
